Description:
Ave Maria: Centuries of Prayer and Praise. Music and poetry for Mary, the Mother of Jesus. The highly acclaimed Choir of Old Saint Paul’s, under its director Dr John Kitchen MBE, Edinburgh City Organist, performs celebrated Marian compositions interspersed with a selection of poems also inspired by Mary. Drawing on many different periods, the programme reveals the highly contrasting styles that Mary has inspired across the centuries. The poems will be read by accomplished readers drawn from the congregation of Old Saint Paul's.
