Two years ago, a Japanese female comedian made the leap to New York, ready to reveal the truth about Japanese women and society, while uplifting survivors and dismantling stereotypes. Kilara, a hikikomori survivor and HBCU alumni, also exposes harassment by another symbol of Japanese power: the middle-aged man.
